The Union Aerospace Corporation (Abbrev. UAC) was founded in 1982 by the late Samuel Hayden.

They were based in the United Nations of NATO, but as of 1987, moved their headquarters to Mars City. Their research division, Advanced Weapons Research (Abbrev. AWR), supplies the NATO Military with state-of-the-art weaponry, including The UAC Plasma Rifle, which has caused controversy due to the fact that it is commercially available.

The UAC is currently run by Olivia Pierce and Dr. Arnold McKinney.

History

1982 - 1984

In 1982, Samuel Hayden left The American Genetic Modification Company (Abbrev. AGM) after the introduction of their Freedoom Program, finding it inhumane. He was quoted in a 1986 interview saying "...[I believe] no man should have his body mutilated against his will [...] just because he is on death row..." [1]

Upon leaving AGM, he started the UAC with Olivia Pierce, who was Hayden's assistant while working at AGM. She was promoted to Chairman when the company was started. [2]

They launched their first line of comercially available Hover Pods in 1983. [3]

1985 - 1987

Hayden and Pierce launched the UAC's first interplanetary vessel in 1985, after acquiring permission from the United Nations to set up a station on Mars and its moons, Phobos and Deimos two years prior. [4] In preperation for what was to come, they began hiring engineers and scientists of varying fields. [5]

The first station, Mars City, was finished in early 1987, and was originally a mining colony, but now houses numerous labs of varying uses along with residential housing for the staff. [6} At this point, they began contracting Marines of The NATO Marine Corps. as extra security, along with their already established security teams. [7]

They began construction of the Phobos and Deimos Bases in december of 1987, building around the newly discovered artificial structures on either moon, dubbed The Gates[8], after their ability to send materials back and forth. [9]

1988 - 1990

After the moon bases were finished, they had walls put around The Gates, and used them to deliver packages between the moons. [9] They also established the Advanced Weapons Research division, and began working with the NATO Government as a supplier for the military. [10] The staff at the Deimos Base have taken to calling it "The Butt End of Space", and some staff have been seen wearing hats with "BEOS" embroidered on the front. [11]

Dr. Arnold McKinney, who, at the time, was Hayden's secretary, expressed concern for using the, quote, "alien structures" in such a lax manner during an interview with Hayden, which he was present for. Hayden brushed it off, claiming it was experimentation for the good of the technological advancement of mankind. [12]

In 1989, a team of six was sent through the Phobos Gate with a camera on each person. [13] Upon emerging on the Deimos Gate they were reportedly "zombified" according to the staff at the base. [14] The team acted hostile towards staff, including one instance were a security officer, Officer Dacote, was fired upon by one of the "zombies", who had stolen a firearm. [15]

1991 - present day

After the zombified team passed away from their condition, NATO decided that The Gates were too dangerous to be used, and the UAC was no longer allowed to touch them. [15} The rules were not strictly enforced, and rumors have spread speculating that they are still in use. [17]

In november of 1991, Samuel Hayden died of a cancer that he had kept hidden for the last two years of his life. [18] The company was put in the hands of Olivia Pierce and Dr. McKinney. 19] Pierce has stated multiple times that she disagrees with Hayden's decision of leaving part of the company to Dr. McKinney. [20]

It has been speculated that a robot clone is being developed of Samuel Hayden, akin to the company's already in use AI, VEGA, but nothing has been proven yet. [21]

Weaponry

When The UAC introduced their Advanced Weapons Research Division they acquired the ownership of Wolfenstein-Waffenkammer (The Stone Wolf Armory) [22], a German firearm company, and started producing Chainguns [23], which had been discontinued after World War II [24]. They also started production of the rest of The Stone Wolf's discontinued weaponry from that era, including the PO8 Luger. [23]

Of The UAC's own designs, they have made The Plasma Rifle [25], a military-grade plasma flinging device, which has had a controversial release to the public. [26]
